Senior Data Analytics Engineer

UNIQA Re AG is a FINMA-licensed reinsurer based in Zurich and part of the UNIQA Insurance Group, headquartered in Vienna. As UNIQA Re continues to expand its external reinsurance business, the company is building a future-ready data infrastructure to support growth, transparency and analytical steering.

In this role, you will combine modern data engineering expertise with insurance or reinsurance understanding and play a central part in shaping the data foundation for a growing external business portfolio.

Your role

▪ Design, develop and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for reinsurance data

▪ Build analytical data models in a modern cloud data platform

▪ Automate data integration processes via API, SFTP and batch loads

▪ Implement data lineage, cataloguing and documentation

▪ Support analytics use cases in pricing, exposure modelling and performance steering

▪ Translate business requirements from underwriting, finance and technical

accounting into robust technical solutions

▪ Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, data architecture, UITS in Vienna and

external data providers

What you bring

▪ Strong SQL and Python skills

▪ Experience with cloud data platforms, ideally Databricks

▪ Solid expertise in data modelling and ETL/ELT frameworks

▪ Good understanding of IFRS 17 on the level of data logic, reporting requirements and

regulatory data needs

▪ Experience in insurance or reinsurance is strongly preferred; experience in another

regulated financial services environment may also be relevant

▪ Ability to work independently, structure complex topics and communicate clearly

with non-technical stakeholders

▪ Fluent English is sufficient; German is a plus, not a must

▪ Interest in combining technology, data and business impact in a regulated

reinsurance environment
